BLOSSOM CALDARONE GIRLFRIENDS

Having attended The prestigious BRIT School alongside friends/contemporaries and TMR faves black midi, Rosie Alena and Olivia Dean, rising Gloucester-born singer/songwriter Blossom Caldarone has shared a contemplative new single. Easing in with clattering percussion before stripping back to softly played piano notes and Caldarone's exquisite voice, 'Girlfriends' is a deeply personal offering that tackles toxic masculinity with a frighteningly catchy chorus. Caldarone explains: “Girlfriends is a song based on my experiences with men I am close to, and how their fear of speaking out about their difficult feelings has affected our relationships. It let my ex boyfriend and I down and it’s an issue that doesn’t discriminate; men of every age seem to, and often do, suffer from it's wrath. Male mental health is a huge problem and one that requires attention and time. Girlfriends is just a story that gives the issue a platform.” Check it out here now. -Holly Mullineaux
